LOTR Marathon Night

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,

Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,

Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,

One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,

One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them,

In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

I first read LOTR when I was about 10 and the poem has stuck with me all this time. Though I love the books I find J R Tolkien’s style of writing a struggle to read. There are several authors that though I enjoy their works their style doesn’t sit well, Stephen King is another such author. I looked forward to the movies but worried that they would be completely different as is prone to happen. I was pleasantly surprised at how close they were to the original storyline.
